Size: The Angelfish can grow up to 15 centimetres / 6 inches.
Colour: The wild Angelfish has a silver coloured body decorated with dark vertical bars. Young Angelfish have seven bars, while adult Angelfish have only four.
Shape: The body is very compressed and shaped like a disc.
Temperament: Quite peaceful, keep at least five Angelfish together. Males can be very territorial. If you want to breed Angelfish, you can keep a pair together in a separate aquarium.
Care: Do not keep together with small fish, since the Angelfish will consider them prey. Make sure that the tank is deep enough for your Angelfish, since it can become stunted in a shallow aquarium.
Feeding: You can feed your Angelfish live food, e.g. earthworms (you might need to cut up larger animals).
Water conditions: The pH range for the Angelfish is 6-8. It lives in tropical regions where the water temperature is around 24 – 30° C / 75 – 86° F.
Breeding: Most breeders choose to keep a breeding pair in a separate aquarium without other Angelfish. Keep the water temperature in the upper part of the recommended interval. Rocks will work as breeding sites.
