Size: The Blue Discus can reach a size of 15 centimetres / 6 inches.
Colour: The Blue Discus is also known as the Turquoise Discus. A Blue Discus with distinct blue lines is called a Royal Blue Discus. If the fish also has red markings, it is called a Red Royal Blue Discus.
Shape: The Blue Discus is naturally discus shaped.
Temperament: You can keep Blue Discus in a community tank. The Discus is a very docile species, and should not be forced to compete for food with assertive species like Angelfish.
Care: Keep at least six Discus fishes together.
Feeding: Feed your discus cut up earth worms and other types of live food. It is also possible to use flake food as a base.
Water conditions: Keep the water temperature in the 25-29° C / 77-84° F range. The pH should be between 6.0 and 6.5.
Breeding: The Blue Discus is considered difficult to breed in captivity. Discus fish are devoted parents and should not be removed from their offspring.
