Glow light tetra

Scientific name: Hemiodus gracilis

Origin: South America

Size: This fish can reach a size of 15 cm / 6 inches

Colour: The Glow light tetra has a pale peach to yellow body coloration.

Shape: It has the same body shape as the Neon tetra and the Cardinal tetra.

Temperament: The Glow light tetra is a non-aggressive species commonly kept in community aquariums.

Care: Keep at least ten specimens together in a school. This tetra appreciates a planted tank.

Feeding: It will accept many different food types, but live food is highly appreciated.

Water conditions: Keep the water temperature in the 22-25° C / 72-77º F range and the pH from 5.8 to 7.2.

Breeding: This fish is generally considered easier to breed in aquariums than Neon tetra and Cardinal tetra. The adult fish can eat eggs and fry, and offspring should therefore be raised in their own tank. Feed the fry newly hatched brine shrimp or micro worms.
