Kissing Gourami

Scientific name: Helostoma temmincki
Origin: South East Asia
Size: The Kissing Gourami can grow up to 10 inches / 25 centimetres long
Colour: Pink (wildform green)
Temperament: The Kissing Gourami is generally a peaceful species, but the males will combat each other by locking jaws (so called “kissing”).
Feeding: They will usually accept flake food, but supplementing the flake diet with some live food is recommended. You can for instance feed your Kissing Gourami mosquito larvae, daphnia, or chopped up earthworms.
Breeding: The Kissing Gourami is not easy to breed in aquariums. Breeding this species is much more difficult than breeding Dwarf Gourami, Pearl Gourami and Honey Gourami.
